Tender Loving Care

sushi catIt was my 34-th birthday on Wednesday, February 27th, and I got a lot of great presents! 🙂 I want to especially thank my wonderful husband Ken for giving me Sushi Cat (on the left) and other awesome gifts! Sushi Cat is the main character of Sushi Cat games. You can play them here. They are Puzzle & Skill type [like I’ve ever played any other kind, save for Strategy and Hidden Object 🙂 ]

I’ve spent some time during that day taking care of myself, which I haven’t done in a while. I felt really good after that, so I wanted to share some of this goodness with you.

You don’t have to have a lot of expensive cosmetics to whip yourself up into shape. In fact, for this one you won’t need any :). You can do a great facial treatment using all natural ingredients! How cool is that?

A word of caution to this tale – make sure you don’t have reaction to all the natural components you’ll be using, otherwise you might get an allergy bigger than the Universe! So, if in doubt, test on an inconspicuous spot and wait for an hour or two.

     part 1Part 1 – Steam bath

Boil the kettle, pour boiling water into a wide sturdy bowl and grab a soft towel. This procedure will be much more effective if you add 6-12 drops of your favorite essential oil to the water. I used Eucalyptus. Your face got to be clean, so before you start, all make up has to go! 🙂 Bring your face over the steaming bowl [don’t dip it in! 🙂 ] and cover your head and the bowl with the towel. Start from 5-10 minutes and let hot steam and oil work their magic on unclogging your pores. Some nice music won’t hurt while you’re sitting there :).

part 2Part 2 – Scrub time

Don’t have trendy-brandy scrub at home? No worries, just look into your coffee maker’s filter. Used grounded coffee (yep, the brown goo :)) acts as a soft natural scrub and contains a ton of natural oils, as an added benefit. Just gently rub it all over your face and rinse it off with a warm water.

part 3Part 3 – Masks on

Pre-made masks run from $15 a tube and up. Way up :). Not ready to make that kind of investment? Then open your cupboard and get good old honey out. Softer, more liquid honey works better, as hard one tends to stretch your skin, as you’re putting it on. Put a generous layer on your prepared face and neck, avoiding areas around your eyes.

Have a second chin? Wrap few layers of plastic wrap around that honey on your neck. Heat generated under the wrap will start melting underskin fat away. Eventually, your second chin will disappear. I mean eventually :). It took 10 months of regular procedures when I had one.

Keep the honey on for 5-8 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Put a layer of face cream on and gently massage it in. Then just enjoy your beautiful, fresh, great looking face! 🙂

How do I know all this? A few years ago, with my Mom, we wrote a few little books of the subject. Books were instant hits and sold within a few days. That’s how :).

cakeAnd what birthday without a cake? 🙂 Here is mine! Preceding the questions why there are 7 candles on it when I am 34, I’ll tell you up front – it’s simple! 3+4=7 :).
